Armand and Albert are two men that are sharing a long-term relationship and live a luxurious life on top of Armand's drag queen club, 'The Birdcage'. Together, they raised Armand's son, Val, and one day they get the great news: He's getting married. His soon-to-be wife is bringing her family to their house and Val asks Armand to clean up the place a little bit. That means lose the art collection, furnishings, clothes, and Albert.
Senator Keeley is an ultra-conservative going for re-election and he thinks that a trip to his future in-laws could take some stress off his. It's anything but as he tries to uncover what is so peculiar about Armand and Albert (who is dressed like a woman) as they attempt to act out a normal, everyday family.

This production is a dedication to the late, great Robin Williams.
