SYNOPSIS
Set in the 1970s to 1980s this 3 act play follows the life of Arnold Beckhoff, a gay drag performer as he finds his way through love, loss, and family in the city of new York. Through these three acts the audience will see Arnold struggle for lasting love, a battle between one’s sexuality, loss and heartache. But you will also see family values. enough comedy to make the family laugh and a heartwarming story. The action of the play takes place in a bar, 2 apartments and a house.
Time: 1970 to 1980
 
AUDITION INFORMATION
We are based in Penrith where we plan to both rehearse and perform this production. Please consider the travel time before auditioning.
We are holding a play reading of this script on 12th March at 6.30pm in our rehearsal space Level 1, 15 Evan Street, Penrith.

Please email Bradley at: bradleyianaustin@outlook.com.au if you plan to attend the reading. The audition process and information will be discussed at the end of the night.

ED REISS - Male, 30 to 40 (open to other ages)
Bisexual, awkward, masculine. Boyish charm.

LAUREL - Female, early 20s to late 20s
Unfancy in appearance, thoughtful, bright and girlish.

ALAN - Male, 25+
Young-looking. Shamefully beautiful.

DAVID - Male, 20s, to late 20s
Young-looking. Bright. Full of charm.

MS. BECKHOFF - Female, 50+
Arnold’s mother, standoff-ish type of personality.
